Children's Eye Care

Being responsible for your children’s eye care can raise all sorts of questions. As a family-friendly practice, we are here to answer them and provide the best possible care for your children.

From our simple and effective eye examinations to our colourful selection of children’s frames we work hard to make it easy for you to take care of your children’s eyes.

Kids Eye Tests

Reduced eyesight can make everything from schoolwork to sport more difficult, so checking up on your child’s eye health at least every two years is an essential practice (eye examinations for children are free of charge through the NHS).

During our child-friendly eye tests, we carefully assess your child’s eyesight and also keep a look out for conditions that can be caught and corrected early on.

We recommend a first examination no later than their 4th birthday, but earlier if you have any concerns or if there is a history of lazy eye or squint.

Glasses For Children

We want your children to be proud of their glasses, so we make sure to offer a wide selection to suit every taste.

We take the time to consider what frames will suit your child, so whether they’re sporty, adventurous or like to stand out of the crowd we’ll be sure to find them the perfect pair.

There is help with the cost of children's eyewear through the NHS.

Don't Be Short-sighted About Myopia!

Myopia or short-sightedness is a condition in which near objects appear clear but distant objects are blurry.

An estimated 30% of the global population is myopic and this percentage has been growing rapidly in recent years.

Myopia usually starts between the ages of 6 and 13 and gets worse over time. For this reason, it’s very important to catch it early. The good news is effective lens technology is being used to control myopia and stop it from getting worse.
